With reference to Mr Fairfield's letter of the
7th ultimo relating to a proposal to issue a half-cent
piece in the Colony of Hong Kong, I am directed by the
19414 Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury to transmit

to you herewith a copy of a report from the Deputy Master
of the Mint relating to this subject and I am to request
that, in laying the same before the Marquis of Ripon, you
will move him to cause a copy of it to be forwarded to the
Governor of Hong Kong for his consideration.
